The SAFE T Act is a Disaster

Safe Suburbs USA PAC has been raising awareness of our many concerns about the SAFE T Act which goes into effect on January 1, 2023. This law placed criminals over community public safety. Listen to the words of highly regarded Will County States Attorney Jim Glasgow who fears this law will force accused murderers and other offenders to be released to the streets on January 1st.

100 years sounds about right….Aurora Man Sentenced to 100 Years IDOC for Breaking into
Woman’s Home and Sexually Assaulting Her

DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin announced today that Judge Michael Reidy has sentenced Thaddeus Jones, 26 (d.o.b. 10/29/1996) formerly of Aurora, to one hundred years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for breaking into a woman’s house, sexually assaulting the woman and forcing her to drive him to her bank to withdraw money from her account. On April 14, 2023, a jury found Jones guilty of the crimes following approximately two hours of deliberations and a four-day-long trial in front of Judge Reidy. In all, the jury found Jones guilty of two counts of Home Invasion (Class X Felony), eight counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault (Class X Felony), two counts of Aggravated Kidnapping (Class X Felony), one count of Robbery (Class 2 Felony) and one count of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle (Class 2 Felony).
On March 23, 2018, at approximately 7:15 a.m., DuPage County sheriff deputies responded to a residence in unincorporated Naperville for a report of a home invasion. Through the course of their investigation into the matter, authorities learned that Jones had broken into the woman’s home, sexually assaulted her, then forced her into her car which he then drove to her bank to withdraw money for him out of her account. Jones then returned to the woman’s home with her at which time the woman was able to escape. Jones then fled the scene in the woman’s car. Within hours, Jones was located at a motel in Naperville and taken into custody. He has remained in custody at the DuPage County Jail since that time.
“Make no mistake, Mr. Jones most certainly earned every single year of the one-hundred-year sentence handed down by Judge Reidy this afternoon,” Berlin said. “The vicious, violent attack and sexual assault Mr. Jones administered to this innocent woman will haunt her for the rest of her life. While the victim in this horrific case will never forget what happened to her, it is my sincerest hope that perhaps today’s one-hundred-year sentence will provide her with some measure of closure knowing the man responsible will never again pose a risk to society. I thank Assistant State’s Attorney’s Cathy DeLaMar, Michael Fisher and Christina Kye for their efforts in securing this well-deserved sentence.”
Jones will be eligible for parole in 2096.

Nicely done everyone and very much appreciated!!!

Thank you Judge and our State’s Attorney Berlin. 🇺🇸

Got what he deserves when you don't care about others why should anyone care about people like him!!!!! My personal opinion

Nice work by State’s Attorney Berlin, ASAs and Judge Reidy

Thank you to Judge Reidy and Bob Berlin (and team). We need to permanently remove dangerous predators from our society and the DuPage criminal justice system is doing their best to accomplish this.

Great work everyone, put this piece of crap where he belongs!!!

He will be set for life; hopefully be sorry and turn his life around. That was a horrible crime.

Well done

Justice has been served!

That’s what I like to see. Keep handing down sentences like this and these thugs will think twice about committing crimes in our county. Bravo.

This man is going to die in jail for making such a poor decision.

She was an elderly woman, too. Prison is not enough for this POS

What a piece of shit. Hope he gets treated the same way in jail- that’s justice!

Need to start building more prisons….

Bye bye !!

Great news! These loser, lowlives will learn not to do crime in Dupage. This is the proper way to sentence criminals.
